Children's Services

Here in Kensington and Chelsea, our ambition is to fundamentally change the relationship we have with families. As Partners in Practice with DfE, we are leading the way in using systemic practice for more purposeful and effective interventions with children, young people and their families.

You will be part of building a strong multidisciplinary team within our Children’s home, Olive House, to provide a high quality, holistic residential children’s service for vulnerable looked after young people aged 13-18. Olive House is a newly built, high spec unit which has been operating since May 2014 and has been consistently rated as “Good” by Ofsted.

We have an exciting opportunity for a candidate who is an experienced qualified social worker, working with this age group, and who wants to take a lead role in promoting excellent practice within a residential setting. The role will normally work standard 9am-5pm hours. Additional benefits are attached to this post – including annual Travelcard and Hays Performance Related Pay.

Olive House links with social workers and multi-disciplinary staff who undertake direct work with young people and provide support to staff to deliver tailored packages of care. Our aim is to develop trusting relationships with young people and their families to support a return home where possible or a stable alternative placement. You will play a key role in developing effective assessments and interventions to support these goals.

The successful candidate will be social work qualified with experience of systemic practice and other evidence-based interventions. They will be a key member of the management team, leading on the development and embedding of good practice through coaching, group supervision, research and evaluation. They will undertake direct work with young people, holding both individual and joint key working responsibilities. They will enjoy peer support from other Specialist Practitioners located in the social work teams.
