Leisure Services are looking for a team of hardworking, enthusiastic, friendly and highly motivated Sport & Physical Activity Leaders and Assistants to deliver a range of sport and leisure activities across the Borough of Charnwood to 5 – 16 year olds and families as part of Leisure Services’ Summer Activity Programme. These are required for a 6-week period from 19 July to 31 August 2010, with further casual hours available during the October, February and Easter holidays.

£6.3816 per hour (plus 10.77% holiday supplement)

Sport and Leisure Activity Assistants will be required to lead groups of children / young people (under the supervision of a Sports & Leisure Activity Leader or qualified coach) introducing them to an appropriate range of sports / leisure activities and skills. The successful candidate will have experience of working with children and young people in a coaching / leadership capacity.

FOR THE ABOVE POST applicants must have excellent communication and leadership skills and possess a recognised sports coaching / leadership qualification (Minimum Level 1). You must also have attended or are willing to attend prior to commencement of the programme, a First Aid course and Sports Coach UK Safeguarding & Protecting Children workshop. The nature of the work means applicants must have a flexible attitude to work hours.

Applicants will only be appointed after successfully obtaining clearance on the CRB disclosure process.
