Leisure Services are looking for a team of hardworking, enthusiastic, friendly and highly motivated Sport & Physical Activity Leaders and Assistants to deliver a range of sport and leisure activities across the Borough of Charnwood to 5 – 16 year olds and families as part of Leisure Services’ Summer Activity Programme. These are required for a 6-week period from 19 July to 31 August 2010, with further casual hours available during the October, February and Easter holidays.

£7.1913 per hour (plus 10.77% holiday supplement)

Suitable candidates will be required to implement and oversee the provision of activities for large groups of children / young people. Leaders will also be responsible for supervising and leading sessions, and helping to train a team of sports activity assistants working under their supervision. Applicants must have experience of coaching sports / leisure activities to young people, together with excellent coaching and leadership skills. The ability to plan, organise and deliver effective activity sessions are essential.

FOR THE ABOVE POST applicants must have excellent communication and leadership skills and possess a recognised sports coaching / leadership qualification (Minimum Level 1). You must also have attended or are willing to attend prior to commencement of the programme, a First Aid course and Sports Coach UK Safeguarding & Protecting Children workshop. The nature of the work means applicants must have a flexible attitude to work hours.

Applicants will only be appointed after successfully obtaining clearance on the CRB disclosure process.
