Sports Development Worker

We are currently seeking a Sports Development Worker to join our teams based in Nottingham and Derby. If you are successful in gaining this position you will be offered a part time interim contract until the 31st of March 2011, working 22 hours per week.

Your main purpose in this position will be to develop and support Spirita’s sports programme across the Nottingham and Derby area. You will be required to target and engage primarily but not exclusively with Spirita residents and develop a mutually beneficial partnership to support Spirita’s Community Sports Programme

To be successful in gaining this fantastic opportunity it is essential that you have up to date knowledge of the sport and leisure industry, including qualifications and job roles, good IT skills including Microsoft Office packages Word and Excel and knowledge of good practice in delivering community projects, particularly risk management.

It would be desirable if you possess a relevant level 3 qualification (eg NVQ Coaching, leadership, Youth work, Advice and Guidance).

You will also need to possess a basic level of IT literacy. A definition of the term ‘basic’ can be found in the job profile.
