Street Naming & Numbering Officer

The Council requires a meticulous individual to undertake the role of Street Naming and Numbering Officer, covering the role for the existing postholder, who is currently on maternity leave.

You will be required to analyse developer’s plans and decide on the most appropriate way new developments can be named and numbered. You will liaise with local parish councils to agree street names and with external agencies such as the Royal Mail and Fire Service. You will also ensure that fees are recovered and appropriate records kept of the whole process.

You will utilise your existing IT skills to maintain and develop the Council’s Local Land and Property Gazetteer using our UNIform application software, to ensure that address data is fed to other major council departments in a timely fashion.
