Do you care about the Environment; are you keen, self motivated and want to be part of an enthusiastic Street Scene team that is responsible for monitoring and inspecting the Council’s front line environmental services, including highways, waste, recycling and green spaces?
The Royal Borough of Kingston’s vision is that in 2011 it has a national reputation as the best place to live and work. The people appointed will greatly influence the delivery of that vision and will ensure a clean, green and safe local environment which can be enjoyed by residents, businesses, visitors and customers.
We are seeking to appoint three proactive individuals to complete the Street Inspection team. The focus of this role is to provide a full highway maintenance function that delivers excellent services. The role covers a range of services from highway inspection and maintenance, green spaces, street cleansing, refuse and recycling, contact monitoring, winter maintenance, and responding to residents’ complaints received by the Customer Contact Centre and generally delivering a positive problem solving role to address operational matters.
Applicants will need to demonstrate experience of providing inspection services in a Street Scene environment within the range of services delivered; putting the customer first and developing productive working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
The successful applicants will have the ability to undertake physical tasks, good public relations skills and an interest in environmental issues.
Applicants for the above positions should hold a valid driving licence. There will be the need to develop strong working relationships between both roles and for a flexible approach including some out of hours and weekend working.
If you would like an informal discussion about any of the above jobs, please contact Michael Dixon on 020 8547 5895.
An Equal Opportunities Employer.
