We are looking for a enthusiastic individuals to work as part of a dedicated team in Stratford for adults with moderate Learning Disability and Autism who display behaviours that can challenge our services. The nature of the role is to assist in the provision of a quality support service by enabling people to learn, improve their confidence, and live independently within the community.
Ideally, you will need to demonstrate an understanding of the issues affecting people with learning disabilities and will have experience and/or knowledge of working with this client group. Awareness of person-centred active support would be beneficial. You will contribute to the review of individuals support plans, be prepared to work as part of a team by sharing ideas and information and support and motivate service users to improve their confidence.
The ideal candidates will be highly person-centered, enthusiastic, motivated and committed in their approach to working with vulnerable people. In addition, we are looking for someone with good communication skills and some IT skills are essential. This work can involve challenging working conditions so awareness of Health and Safety good practice is essential. Ongoing training is provided and staff are encouraged to gain nationally recognised qualifications, such as a Diploma in Health and Social Care.
You will be required to participate in a shift system which includes evenings, night shifts (currently a waking night shift but sleep-over shifts may also be required), weekends and bank holidays.

- Describe your understanding of behaviours that challenge services and what experience you have of working with clients who are challenging.
