The Mayor’s vision for Newham is that the borough will be a place where people will choose to live, work and Stay.

Newham has 8 directly managed Community Centres and your role will be to work throughout Newham on a rota basis which will include regular evening and weekend working.

We need to appoint somebody to the above post as the current member of staff has been seconded to cover maternity leave.

You will be involved in providing support to Newham’s 28 Community Centres by helping to:

• Support the development of Community Centres by ensuring that Community Buildings are maintained, repaired and developed within agreed budgets
• Improve and maintain good working relationships with the Community by acting as first point of contact for community centres repairs and maintenance and buildings enquiries.
• Develop and deliver ICT, financial and administrative systems for relevant work that ensure accountability and quality of performance

You will also play a key role in supporting innovative approaches that instil a culture of achievement, drive and commitment that will be so essential to the future success of Leisure Services.

• Are you able to work under pressure, prioritise and manage multiple tasks, work to strict deadlines and be highly organised?
• Are you able to work flexibly on your own initiative and as part of a team in a very busy and dynamic environment?

If you can demonstrate a successful track record in this challenging and rewarding area of work, show a commitment to excellent customer service and possess an impressive record of successful partnership working, we would like to hear from you.

Closing Date for applications 29TH March 2010.
