A highly motivated, enthusiastic and experienced support teacher is required to provide advice and support in relation to the physical needs of pre-school and school age children in mainstream school settings.

IPaSS is an integrated service supporting children with physical difficulties, hearing impairment and/or visual impairment. A vacancy has arisen within the physical disability section. The service offers professional support to pupils with physical disabilities, their parents and schools, promotes inclusion into mainstream provision and facilitates full involvement of pupils in the National Curriculum and broader educational activities.

Candidates will be qualified teachers, with experience of mainstream teaching and knowledge of physical disability and inclusion issues.

Candidates must be mobile between sites as support is offered to schools/settings in both Hull and neighbouring local authorities.

Candidates should be confident in delivering In-Service Training.

Candidates should also be confident in the use of ICT and its application in relation to teaching and learning. Applicants should be willing to complete training in this field.

As a reflection of the integrated nature of the service it is desirable that candidates are able to use British Sign Language at Level 1 or are willing to undertake training to achieve this qualification.
