Support Worker

We are looking for a Support Worker to provide 24-hour housing-related support, according to agreed standards, to individuals with mental health needs; liaising closely with other agencies as necessary.

It is essential the successful candidate is able to demonstrate the following:

• A knowledge of the health and social care systems
• Experience of providing a service to vulnerable individuals
• Experience of providing support to vulnerable adults
• Experience of providing housing related support to individuals, through promoting independence
• An understanding of the benefits system, e.g. housing benefit, income support etc
• A good Understanding/Knowledge of issues facing people with mental ill health

Is is desirable and would be adventageous to your application if you can demonstrate:

• NVQ Level 3 in Housing or Health and Social Care (or equivalent)
• A full driving license and having a car available for work is desirable

Due to the nature of this post, a Criminal Records Bureau check will be undertaken for the successful applicant, but only with their prior consent.
