Building upon the success of the Family Substance Misuse Service, the Safeguarding with Intensive Family Treatment Service (SWIFT) will also incorporate the mental health needs of parents presenting within the children’s safeguarding process. You’ll be working intensively with families at home, where the impact of parental drug/alcohol use or mental health problems reached crisis point and children are at active risk of being accommodated. The aim of the service is to keep children with their families where it is safe and possible to do so.
We are looking for a creative and motivated practitioner to work with families where parental/carer substance misuse or mental health is having a significant impact on the care of the children. Working alongside colleagues as part of our SWIFT service, you’ll be responsible for delivering a holistic service to families, addressing parental substance misuse, improving parenting and addressing the protection needs of children and young people. With a relevant
professional qualification (social work, nursing) and experience of working with substance misuse or mental health, you’ll be committed to professional development and thrive within a multi-disciplinary team. Experience of working with children and families will also be desirable.
