The Council has secured funding for a period of three years from Essex County Council to develop and implement a Quality Taxi Partnership in Council areas along the north Thames corridor. The Councils involved are Basildon DC, Rochford, DC, Southend on Sea BC and Thurrock BC, with castle Point Council acting as the administering authority. We are therefore recruiting a Taxi Services Development Officer, based at our offices on Kiln Road Benfleet.
Applicants should have broad experience of the hackney carriage and Private Hire industry and be familiar with the Quality Taxi Partnership scheme. A knowledge of local government would be an advantage. No specific qualifications are required but a good level of general education is required with excellent written and verbal communication skills. The position is full time, 37 hours per week and will involve some evening and week end working.

The post holder will be required to travel to all Council’s participating in the partnership arrangement along the north Thames corridor and so a full UK driving licence and access to a car is essential.
