Edgbarrow School is a thriving and vibrant 11-18 school with an 80% A*-C pass rate including Maths & English.

From September 2013, we have an exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic teacher to join our outstanding Design and Technology Department from September 2013. The candidate should have a broad background in Resistant Materials and Graphics and a particular interest in developing Systems and Control or Electronics would be desirable.

Edgbarrow School is situated on the edge of Crowthorne and has good access to M3 and M4 corridors; we have a strong reputation that makes us the first choice for families in Crowthorne and the surrounding area. The school site is shared with Edgbarrow Sports Centre which includes sporting facilities such as an all-weather playing surface, squash courts and a health and fitness centre.

Edgbarrow is currently over-subscribed with 210 students in each year group and nearly 300 students in the Sixth Form. In January 2009 Ofsted described the school as outstanding, extracts from the report include:

Edgbarrow is very proud to have achieved and maintained the Investors in People status over the past ten years and we are committed to the ongoing training and development of all our staff and offer a full and varied in-house training programme. We are also part of the Healthy Schools Programme and we aim to draw together the whole school and community to improve the well being of staff and pupils.

We have a new purpose built Sixth Form Building which opened in September, 2010. Our Sixth Form has a proven track record of success with young people, of which we are very proud, and our results continue to place us as one of the best performing Sixth Forms not only in the immediate area but also throughout Berkshire. We strive for the highest possible academic standards and it is our aim to prepare students for higher education, lifelong learning and their future careers.
