Required for September 2010, an enthusiastic and dynamic teacher of science to join this thriving 11-16 comprehensive school, at the heart of Newham’s social and educational regeneration project.

We are a progressive inner city community comprehensive school. Students’ attainment has steadily improved over recent years and we have an impressive record of adding value to our students’ achievement. We have good relationships in the classroom and an effective discipline policy. The school is being remodelled under BSF and this means that four new Science rooms are being built.

The Science department is made up of 11 friendly, hard working and supportive staff who are committed to raising students’ participation and achievement throughout the school. There have been sustained improvements in examination results; last year our students attained 57% A* – C grades in Science CORE GCSE and 59% A* – C for Science ADDITIONAL GCSE.

The percentage of boys and girls achieving the highest grades (A*/A) is above the National Average for both Science GCSEs.
In 2009 65% of students achieved Level 5+ in the end of KS3 assessment, with a 36% of students achieving the highest levels in science – Levels 6 & 7.
