This is a unique opportunity to play a central role in the provision of 24/7 home-based care in Surrey.
Leading a dedicated team of Community Care Assistants covering a wide area, you will ensure the delivery of an outstanding service that empowers those in need to manage their own care. With a broad range of responsibilities, every day will be different. Responsible for planning staff rotas, matching skilled carers with service users, monitoring and reporting on the service and providing training, you will also work alongside your team as an expert practitioner, carrying out risk assessments and reviews. Through your hands-on approach, you will develop strong relationships with a diverse range of parties, from health professionals and care managers to service users and their families. You will help us make a real difference.
Together with proven care experience – ideally including some supervision, you will have NVQ Level 3 in Care (or a nursing qualification), and willing to work towards Level 4 if you haven’t done so already. You will have a good knowledge of health and social care standards, and a demonstrable ability to plan and manage complex rotas. Proficient in the use of technology and office equipment, you’ll be an excellent communicator, both face-to-face and in writing. With a flexible approach to your work, you are willing and able to travel within Surrey.
An enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure and POVA check will be required for this role.
For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Sue Coburn on 01483 518 351.
Interview date: 8 October 2008.
