The Job:

Are you able to make key-decisions whilst managing and leading a Technical Support team across two Councils? We are looking for a leader, someone who can motivate whilst managing a large team to provide a high quality, efficient and value for money development management technical support service.

This role will be pivotal to the recently created shared service, taking a lead role in ensuring efficiency savings are delivered through the harmonisation of working practices and shared IT systems.

Dealing personally with the most complex and controversial cases, you will also manage complaints, monitor operational budgets and maintain a process of continuous improvement.

The Person:

You will have significant experience of providing professional technical support in a development management service, using your thorough knowledge and understanding of planning legislation and case law.

You will be adaptive, progressive with high class organisational skills and be committed to delivering a high quality service in a pressurised environment. You will have recent experience and a passion for effective specialist planning systems such as Mastergov or Uniform.

Leading the technical support function at two locations you will have a good knowledge of project management and procurement, as well as creating challenging personal development plans and managing performance.
