Temporary Assistant Local Land Charges Officer (EDEV985)
(12 month appointment)
Local Land Charges Business Unit
Salary £17,419 pa - £18,746 pa
(37 hours per week)
The Local Land Charges Team at Mid Sussex District Council provides property searches for home movers across the district. We are a small, friendly team, looking for a highly organized individual with a proven ability to adjust to changing priorities, and meet exacting deadlines.
This is initially a temporary 12 month post, with the potential to become permanent beyond that.
Attention to detail and an organized methodical approach are crucial to this post, as well as a good level of computer literacy. You will ideally be familiar with the Mid Sussex District and have an interest in Planning and Building Control. Map reading skills would be an advantage, along with experience of digital mapping (GIS). Knowledge of Local Land Charges is not essential as we will provide you with the necessary training.
The successful candidate must be disciplined and conscientious, whilst maintaining an awareness of the time pressures of the role. We operate within short turnaround times, and need to continually prioritize a variety of tasks in order to deliver a fast, accurate and efficient service to the legal profession.
Whilst the job is demanding, it is also very rewarding, delivering an important service to the residents of Mid Sussex and helping to make the purchase of their new home or property as smooth and stress free as possible.
