Temporary Canvasser

Hours:Late afternoons / evenings / weekends. Provided the work is carried out within the set timescale canvassers can decide when they will put in the hours.

Will you have some spare time in the late afternoon/evenings and weekends for a month from 24 October? If so the Electoral Services team is looking for canvassers to work as part of the team completing the annual update of the Register of Electors. Applicants must have good communication skills, a methodical approach to work and the ability to travel around the Borough to call at properties where no registration information has been returned (travelling expenses will be payable).

You will be responsible for checking the accuracy of our property database, delivering registration forms and collecting information from non-responding households. Canvassers are needed right across the Borough to canvass wards, polling districts or a cluster of villages. To be effective the bulk of the work has to be carried out during the late afternoon/early evening and at weekends. Provided the work is carried out within the set timescale canvassers can decide when they will put in the hours.
