Temporary Technical Officer - Care & Repair, Elmbridge - 6 months fixed term for 18 hours per week

Elmbridge CARE & Repair is a Home Improvement Agency that assists older and vulnerable disabled people through the process of adaptations, repairs and improvements to their home to help them live independently and remain safe and secure.

The Technical Officer assists older people and people with a disability with the organisation of major and minor repair works or disabled facility adaptations so that they can remain in their homes in reasonable security and comfort.

The Technical Officer draws up the specification of work, obtains tenders, completes the necessary applications and supervises the work from start to finish.

The successful candidate will need:

• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• A commitment to customer service
• Wide experience of the building trades, repairs and adaptations
• Experience of preparing specifications of work including drawing plans
• Experience of supervision of works on site and effective contract administration
• Ability to undertake inspections and surveys
• Sound knowledge of Heath & Safety, Building Regs and ACoPs within the building trade
