Hours:1 year fixed-term contract 

Salary:RG5 £23,708 – £28,636 pa (Successful candidates will normally start at the first point of the grade to which they are appointed)

Location:Tenant Participation Unit - Communities and Customer Services 

Reading Borough Council has a strong commitment to working with tenants and to make sure that tenants have a say in the services delivered to their homes and local communities. We are looking for someone who has drive and enthusiasm to ensure that local people are able to effectively influence policies and drive service and neighbourhood improvements, and help us respond to the TSA regulatory requirements.

This role will require you to work collaboratively across Reading Borough Council Housing Services to set the standards for tenant involvement and feedback, ensuring tenant expectations are met and where possible exceeded and the resident experience is continuously improved. You will also have a role to work with Reading Federation of Tenant and Resident Associations, to strengthen their impact as a consultative body. One of the challenges for the coming year is to set up and support a new group of tenants to challenge and improve service delivery.

You will need excellent organisational and people skills, the ability and a real interest to form effective working relationships with a diverse range of people, and a strong commitment to customer engagement in services and policy bringing commitment, enthusiasm, vision and a sound understanding of the requirements and benefits of tenant involvement in housing services.

You will be required to manage your workload and there will be times when you will need to attend evening and weekend meetings. A track record of devising and delivering training would be desirable.
