Guildford Borough Council are offering the opportunity for an ambitious and dedicated graduate, with a relevant degree in property management, land management or similar, to join our valuation team as Valuation Surveyor. This is an exciting time to join the team following a recent restructure in which it has been given an influential role in the council’s economic future.

In recognition of the value its property portfolio makes to the Council’s income at a time of significant cuts and low interest rates, Guildford Council are making an additional £25 million investment funds available. We are also undertaking a review of existing portfolio to determine the best options for particular industrial, retail and office properties.

The small team offers an impressive range of skills and expertise as well as working in a collaborative and flexible manner. This creates the ideal environment for you to learn and develop, as you do you will have an increasingly influential role in Guildford’s longer term investment and land use strategy. You will also have the opportunity to fully participate in a range of significant projects – such as assisting with the development of the Local and Town Centre Masterplan.

Whilst you would ideally be qualified and have experience working in the industry, what we are looking for is passion, determination and ambition. You will, of course have a relevant degree but we will consider part qualified candidates who are willing to complete their training and . You will share our vision for making Guildford the best it can be, enjoy working as part of a small team and have a willingness and flexibility to participate in a range of projects and day to day activities. In return you will get the full support of your team as well as being given the opportunity to develop your own skills and expertise further.
