The Opening Doors service provides impartial information, advice and guidance (IAG) and job support services – IT training, job search facilities and job brokerage among them – to Lewisham residents who are looking for work, who want a change of career or who wish to take up opportunities for learning. The service is also Matrix accredited.

The Opening Doors service provides impartial information, advice and guidance (IAG) and job support services – IT training, job search facilities and job brokerage among them – to Lewisham residents who are looking for work, who want a change of career or who wish to take up opportunities for learning. The service is also Matrix accredited.
You will provide careers guidance and counselling on a one-to-one basis, in addition to delivering group work (both jobsearch and guidance) to employed and unemployed adult residents of Lewisham.
We are seeking to recruit a qualified and flexible careers guidance practitioner who must meet the following criteria:
• A recognised qualification in careers guidance i.e. DIPCG part 2, PGDIPGC or NVQ4
• Two years experience of providing careers guidance and counselling for adults, with an understanding of the needs of both unemployed and employed people
• Working in a careers guidance/training setting at the present time
• Understanding and commitment to delivering a high quality of services meeting the Matrix quality standards
The post require flexible working including one evening a week and some Saturdays.
You will also be required to completed an Enhanced Criminal Record Bureau clearance.
