Powys, like everywhere else, is facing a real challenge with how to deal with its waste. Our current waste disposal methods are simply not sustainable and furthermore the Welsh Assembly Government will fine us if we don’t reduce our dependence on landfill. Whilst Powys has a good record with recycling and composting, there is still much to do. One of the most important ways of doing this is to raise awareness of waste and get the public on board.

We need a committed, enthusiastic and motivated person to assist in raising awareness of waste in Powys. Educated to ‘A’ level standard, ideally you will have had some experience of waste or environmental issues and also in promotions and marketing. However, what is more important is that you can communicate effectively and are committed to the goals of the Waste Management Team.
