Come and be a valuable member of the Welfare Rights team.The Welfare Rights Service is looking to recruit an officer to work within the team in a community and hospital setting. You will be responsible for providing a comprehensive Welfare Rights advice, information, advocacy and representation service.
If you use your language skills to communicate with service users you will be paid an additional increment.
You will be working with lots of different professionals from both the Council and outside agencies.
You must hold a current driving licence and have use of a car unless a disability prevents this.
You will need to have: -
- 3 years recent experience of high quality advice in Social Security law, including 1 year of regular and effective representation before Tribunal.
- A good understanding and knowledge of issues arising from working and living in a multi ethnic setting and those communities affected by poverty.
- Five GCSE Grades A-C including Maths & English or equivalent.
