Work Preparation is a flexible, individually-tailored training programme to assist people with disabilities or ill-health to achieve paid work and a successful working life.

The main duties of the Work Preparation Officer are to:-

  • source and set up suitable work experience placements
  • work proactively with employers to source job opportunities
  • provide a user-friendly, learner-centred job search service
  • deliver training to enhance job seekers employability skills and job search abilities

You should have:

  • at least 2 years experience of work in an employment, training or recruitment function.
  • experience of working with disabled people or other disadvantaged people; of work placement sourcing; of ensuring health and safety in placement; of developing and running training sessions.
  • a minimum of 4 GCSE’s (grade C or above) or equivalent including English Language OR NVQ Level 3 in Advice and Guidance.

Teaching qualifications and Health and Safety at Work qualifications are desirable.

This post is based at Jacobs Well, Bradford with Work-Able the Council’s employment and training service for people with disabilities and ill-health.

An enhanced disclosure check with the Criminal Records Bureau will be undertaken for these posts.
