New and exciting positions are available to support the development and delivery of an innovative interagency Young People’s Play Project in Bradford District. We are looking for experienced level 3 Youth Work or Playwork practitioner or a candidate who can evidence 3 years of experience operating at the required level.

The Project aims to develop and deliver innovative community based Play opportunities, which respond to the needs and wishes of young people aged 13 – 16 and offer them the chance to engage in inclusive, free and personally directed play. The project will operate in five of Bradford’s diverse communities during out of school time.

You will work with community partners, and young volunteers to deliver quality, inclusive play opportunities.

You must have:

  • A minimum of 3 year’s demonstrable experience in a youth work/play work setting (Centre, Outreach and Detached) with a range of groups of young people including those 13 – 16 years.
  • A flexible and creative approach to enhance young people’s capacity for positive development by creating access to the broadest range of environments and play opportunities.
  • Demonstrable evidence of engaging young people in participatory methods of practice. Excellent communication skills are essential.
  • Skills to advocate for young people’s right to play in the public realm and a sound knowledge of the issues which impact on young people’s holistic well-being.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the skills and attitudes needed for successful team working.
