Salary:JNC 5-8 £8.47-£9.38 per hour (pay award pending) + Casual Car user Allowance

Location:Various locations throughout Hull 

Due to the commitment of Hull’s Children and Young Peoples Services in maintaining and developing a publicly funded youth work service we offer these new opportunities within the Youth Development Service.

You will support the development and deliver opportunities and programmes of youth work that have positive impact on the lives of young people. You will initiate and maintain relationships with young people that both enable and support their personal growth and development in working towards meeting their identified and often complex needs.

You will have a JNC level 2 (NVQ) qualification in Youth and Community Work (or willing to undertake the qualification within 2 years of appointment) with experience (paid or voluntary) working in a young person related field and have knowledge of informal social education and how this has positive impact on the lives of young people.

You will also have some knowledge and an understanding of current legislation relating to youth support and youth targeted services, in particular youth and community work.

You must demonstrate that you are able to work using your own initiative and have the ability to work under pressure, achieve quality work and meet competing deadlines, have good verbal communication skills, communicating across a wide spectrum.

Please note you must be available to work evenings and weekends.
