Mobile Play Team Worker

Hours:30 hours per week – SCHOOL HOLIDAYS ONLY. Temporary Fixed term until March 2010 

Working pattern:Part Time, Temporary position 

Location:Play Pod located at Southmere Primary School and at various sites within the Great Horton and Clayton Heights Extended Schools Cluster.

The Play Team at Bradford’s Early Years, Childcare and Play Service in partnership with Great Horton and Clayton Heights Extended Schools Cluster has secured funding for a Mobile Play Pod Project.

We are looking to recruit to the following post to lead/form a small team developing and delivering a programme of quality, inclusive outdoor play opportunities for children and young people aged 5-12yrs. Sessions will be based at the Play Pod located at Southmere Primary School and at various sites within the Great Horton and Clayton Heights Extended Schools Cluster DURING SCHOOL HOLIDAYS ONLY.

You will have:

  • A recognised level 2 qualification (i.e. NVQ/CACHE level 2 in Playwork, Youth and Community Work, Childcare in a related field, or equivalent)
  • A minimum of 1 years full time experience of working with children and young people aged 5-12yrs in a play, childcare or junior youth setting, in a paid or voluntary capacity
  • Experience of working with children from a variety of backgrounds, including disabled children and children from disadvantaged minority groups
