Lambeth Safeguarding Children Board are seeking a dynamic and effective individual to help shape and develop multi – agency safeguarding children training in Lambeth.

The need for effective training for those involved in safeguarding children is an ongoing priority in Lambeth. Their knowledge, skills, judgement and ability to work together with other professionals is vital to enabling an effective multi-agency approach and ensuring effective outcomes for children and families.

Your key role will be to deliver training to a wide range of professional staff and, working with the LSCB Training Sub Committee, and to co-ordinate the development and evaluation of this training as well as taking the lead in developing the annual LSCB training strategy. A qualified and experienced practitioner you will need experience of working within a child protection environment together with other agencies as well as experience of delivering child protection and safeguarding training to a multi -agency audience.

The Ideal candidate will be aware of national and local developments and initiatives in the area of safeguarding children and possess the ability to incorporate these into training. The post is open to candidates from all LSCB member agencies who possess a professional qualification. The post older and will report to the Workforce Strategy Manager (Children’s Social Care).

Lambeth has a strong and effective Local Safeguarding Children Board which reflects the commitment of its member agencies (including Health, Police, The Children and Young People’s Service (Social Care and Schools), Probation, and Private and Voluntary organisations).

You will be responsible for:

• Creating a framework for the LSCB training cycle.
• Scrutinising safeguarding training provided by partner agencies.
• Contributing to workforce development.
• Creating and delivering packages of specialist and multi -agency training.
• Developing a training pool of occasional trainers
• Ensuring all training provision incorporates anti-discriminatory practice and focuses appropriately on equalities and equal opportunity
• Leading on the development and implementation of LSCB standards in training; and
• Evaluating the effectiveness of training programmes provided on behalf of the LSCB
