Our youth service is setting the professional pace with a constant stream of imaginative ideas and fresh initiatives. We now need people with a genuine interest in supporting young people to join us on a part-time basis.
You will use your excellent interpersonal skills to engage young people in constructive activities. Most of these activities will be carrried out on the streets, in parks or other areas where young people meet. You will need to demonstrate flexibility, patience and commitment. Your ability to understand and communicate effectively with young people in the 13-19 age groups will be essential, and previous experience of working with young people or community groups would be useful.
You will be helping young people to evaluate their standing in the community, and be an intermediate on their behalf when needed.
