Learning and Development Advisor

Providing your specialist professional L&D advice to staff and managers, you’ll work in collaboration with colleagues within the wider HR and OD teams.

Increasing and improving the skills and qualifications of the corporate workforce, you’ll support operational development by offering effective professional learning and consultancy to staff.

Designing, planning, delivering and evaluating a range of tailored learning and development activities, you’ll project manage and offer your expertise and consultancy advice to managers and operational staff on learning and personal development needs and deliver solutions that increase job satisfaction. Leading and contributing to projects that create and enhance the individual’s ability to learn complex material, you’ll also work with internal and external partners, managers and Heads of Services to identify, design, deliver and evaluate training courses and staff surveys. In addition to this, you’ll also promote the positive values and behaviour that underpin our organisation, and ensure all projects are carried out within budget and to timescale.

To join us, you should be educated to Degree level or NVQ 4 in a relevant field and have an advanced understanding of how to design, commission, deliver and evaluate the success of training interventions and workforce development plans. Along with prior experience in consulting, training and coaching, you should also be able to build effective working relationships with partner agencies and have excellent communication and problem solving skills. Knowledge of SCC Service procedures and systems, and a familiarity with adult learning theory is also desirable.
