Salary:£14,000 plus excellent benefits (rising to £16,000 after 12 months if deemed fully competent) 

Hours:42 hours a week, working on a 5 out of 7 rota. This means that Saturday, Sunday and public holidays will come within your conditioned weekly hours. When you are roistered for weekend working, you can normally expect to be given 2 rest days during the week.

The Natural History Museum is one of the world’s leading museums, internationally recognised for its dual role as a centre of excellence in scientific research and as a leading exponent in the presentation of natural history to the general public through exhibitions, public programmes and the web.
Our retail team is part of the Public Engagement Group (PEG) who is responsible for ensuring any visit to the museum is an enjoyable safe and rewarding experience. Our retail team falls within PEG and aim to provide customers with services of the highest quality. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team with excellent opportunities for personal development within the museum.
You will provide a friendly high quality service to all customers visiting the museum and its shops with a specific emphasis on book selling. With experience of working in a retail environment you will be adept at cash handling and working with tills. You will be a team player with good communication skills, attention to detail and proven visual merchanindising skills.
