Senior Service Support Assistant

Employer:Surrey County Council

Reference:045118/NP/6921

Salary:£18,270 - £21,339

Hours:36 hours per week

Working pattern:Full Time, Permanent position

Location:Leatherhead

Closing date:14/01/2009 23:00 PM

A key member of the Children’s Services team, you’ll provide the experience and the wide range of administrative skills needed to support the frontline delivery of first-class care.

Our Children’s Service provides a varied range of care and special education to some of our most vulnerable residents. It’s a hugely dedicated team, making a real difference, but none of its results would be possible without a level of administrative support that’s every bit as committed.

An experienced member of the North East Business Support team, you’ll work with senior colleagues supporting specific aspects of the service. This will involve complex and confidential work, with senior managers and members of the public and calls for a proven catalogue of office-based skills.

Facets to the role include organising and minuting of meetings, organising manager’s diaries and maintaining records and filing systems. Highly organised, comfortable setting your own priorities and often having to meet tight non-negotiable deadlines, you’ll make sure that everything’s in place to ensure that all runs smoothly for the teams and individuals we support. Experience of SAP business processes will give you an added edge, although training will be provided.

For an informal discussion about this role, please contact Richard Wright on 01372 833 677.

An enhanced Criminal Records Bureau disclosure and POCA check will be required for this role.

Interview date: 22 January 2009.

Surrey County Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

Surrey County Council particularly welcomes applications from under represented groups including ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexual orientation or religion.
