‘To make a positive and lasting contribution to the neighbourhoods in which we work’ is the mission of East Thames and as a policy and research officer you will be part helping us to deliver that mission. The role is part of a new central support team for the Chief Executive working across the East Thames Group focussing on performance & service improvement and the delivery of value for money.
The key part of this role is in researching, developing and communicating policies which underpin our drive to continuously improve the delivery of services and improve customer satisfaction. In the development of policy you will be expected to consult with residents and to work with managers and front line staff to ensure that policies reflect both our values and the realities of delivering services. You will be expected to communicate new policies and provide guidance on their implementation.
The role will also contribute to developing our understanding and the shaping of the external environment whether this is through responding to consultations or conducting environment scanning as part of our planning processes.
You should have excellent written and verbal communications skills and experience of managing and researching policy either through work or as part of academic study. You should have knowledge of the development of social policy and of government workings at a national, regional and local level. A broad, but not a specialised knowledge of social housing is also essential.
