CAN YOU MEET THE CHALLENGES WE SET OURSELVES?
Gravesham Housing is involved in an energetic turnaround of its housing service and has recently been approved for a Peer Mentoring Scheme to help us in our goal to achieve Beacon Status for our tenant participation service.
We have attained major improvements in all areas of activity, not content with that – we have set ourselves the challenge of providing unbeatable quality services for our residents and their involvement in this process is key to our success.
We have started the process and now need an outgoing, confident and self-motivated individual to bring an innovative approach to fully achieve resident empowerment. Whilst experience in Social Housing is a plus, what is even more important is that you can demonstrate the ability to work with communities and to take the lead role in developing and supporting residents groups across the Borough and in consultation processes generally.
You will need to have experience of developing and working with community groups and an outstanding ability to communicate in a variety of formats with residents, staff and partner agencies. You will have experience of fundraising and arranging major events together with innovative ideas and fresh approaches to involving hard-to-reach and Minority Ethnic Community groups. A team player with staff management experience of managing other members of staff is essential.
You are welcome to discuss the post informally. Please call Andy Chequers, Assistant Director (Housing & Environment) on 01474 33 78 16
Equal Opportunities
Gravesham Borough Council is working towards equal opportunities and welcomes applications from all sections of the community. The Council also operates a no smoking policy.
