The Strategy and Policy Projects Service lies at the heart of the County Council’s strategic development and decision-making. Much of our work is currently focused on policy and service development commissioned by the Children’s and Adults Directorates as they address the challenges they face. In addition, our teams are committed to delivering commissioned work in significant strategic areas such as climate change, transport and community engagement.
The Strategy and Policy Projects Service is responsible for: leading and managing the development of strategies that ensure the Council is well positioned to adapt service provision in anticipation of future changes; providing high quality, evidence-based policy advice and working with other Services to ensure the policy decisions are supported by robust implementation and change management plans.
This is an opportunity to develop expertise in policy, project management and the use of a range of analytical tools.
You’ll be working at a demanding intellectual level, dealing with changing topics as you move from one project to the next. You’d be expected to conduct information and statistical analysis and research on a range of tasks, help prepare reports and support engagement activities with stakeholders.
Well organised and very flexible in your approach, you need to demonstrate the capacity to apply complex concepts to the policy work of the Council.
There are two Strategy and Policy Projects Officer posts being recruited.
