The Family Link service recruits, assesses and supports carers (similar to foster carers)to provide short breaks for children and young people with disabilities. The right person will have experience in social work with children and young people, preferably with experience of fostering and/or disabled people. Experience of assessment will be an advantage. We are a small service working closely with OTs and social workers in the Children and young people with disabilities social care service. We work with carers through recruitment, assessment, placement and ongoing support. We are proud of our record of stability of placements. We provide initial training for carers.
We need a colleague who is flexible and enthusiastic, enjoys doing assessments and with ideas for developing the service. The post involves some working outside of normal office hours.
