Practice Manager
Mental Capacity Act (MCA) and Deprivation of
Liberty (DoL) Safeguards
£42,813 – £45,459 pa inc.
We are planning a joint service between the PCT and Adults Social Care
to provide advice and guidance to staff on how to integrate the legislation
in practice and a unified process for the DoL service. This is an exciting
and developing area of work and will link with the existing multi-agency
Safeguarding Adults service in Newham.
We are looking for a highly-motivated, experienced manager with a professional
qualification in health or social care and knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act
and the forthcoming Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards.
You will need to have the confidence to act as the representative of both
organisations in dealing with staff, service users, carers, representatives
and IMCAs and where necessary the Court Protection. You will have a positive
attitude practice development with excellent negotiating, training supervisory
skills.

As the Council has a normal retirement age of 65, the maximum age for recruiting new employees will usually be 64 1/2.
