Are you passionate about all children succeeding in mathematics?

Is your next job to be at the forefront of educational developments in mathematics that will have undoubtedly have implications nationally, and quite possibly internationally?

The six Berkshire authorities (West Berkshire, Wokingham, Windsor and Maidenhead, Bracknell, Slough and Reading) are working together to recruit a Teacher Leader who will train teachers across the six authorities in the new Numbers Count programme. It aims to do what Reading Recovery has done for children with literacy difficulties, i.e. to be the Rolls Royce of all numeracy interventions.

Every Child Counts is a national development that will provide intensive and early support to children who are experiencing the greatest difficulties with numeracy.

This post will provide you with a year’s training. You will then train twenty-four teachers across the Berkshire authorities to work with the Teacher Leader to deliver intensive numeracy support.

The postholder will be based in Reading and/or Slough and employed by Reading Borough Council on behalf of the consortium, and will travel to schools across the six authorities.

A Criminal Records Disclosure will be sought from the successful candidate.
