We are looking for an enthusiastic person with an in depth knowledge of data collection, survey techniques, analysis and presentation of information, particularly in relation to planning policy. Working under the general supervision of the Planning Policy Manager, you will co-ordinate the work of a small team responsible for initiating, developing and presenting statistical and other information relevant to the effective delivery of primarily land use policies, but also supporting the wider work of North Somerset Council and its partners.
The successful candidate will need to be able to work in a methodological, organised manner, and have first class IT and keyboard skills, preferably with GIS experience. He or she will need to demonstrate an ability to analyse, present and monitor statistical information, and have good communication and report writing skills, and be able to supervise and motivate staff. Experience of working within a local authority environment and knowledge of the sustainable development agenda and the implications for corporate planning and research would be an advantage.
Qualification to degree standard is required along with familiarity with the statutory requirements for planning related information.
