Hours:18.5 hours per week, days to be agreed. Normal office hours are 8.45 am - 5.15 pm Monday to Thursday and 8.45 am - 4.45 pm Friday. A Flexitime scheme is in operation.

Blaby District Council continues to develop its scrutiny function particularly working with stakeholders and local residents when looking at the Council’s performance in delivering its services to the community.
We are looking to recruit someone with strong research, analytical and report writing skills to work with and support Members and Council Officers in undertaking thorough and effective Scrutiny reviews. The ability to handle a number of projects, balance priorities and work to tight deadlines is vital.
You will promote the scrutiny function, co-ordinate agenda’s, service meetings, collect evidence, write reports and monitor the implementation of accepted recommendations.
You will have an understanding of local government functions and governance arrangements and excellent interpersonal and communications skills to engage with a wide variety of people at different levels.
The salary would be negotiable for someone with proven experience and ability in Scrutiny.
