Ben feels the need to help and protect those around him. Ben is a seven year old boy.

Could you give Ben the opportunity to be a child in a loving and stable home???

Ben has been in foster care for 18 months. Although his current foster carers would love to continue to care for him, they regret that they are not able to due to their own circumstances. Ben is described by them as ‘lively, kind and fun to be around’. Ben can also display challenging behaviour, and his manner is at times aggressive and demanding. Carers are needed who can manage Ben’s behaviour and help him to develop through patience and continual firm boundaries. Ben loves animals, outdoor pursuits, swimming (in which he has his 10 metre badge) and to play football. He would benefit from carers who are able to give him time, attention and encouragement to participate and succeed in these activities.

Ben says –
“I like school, keeping fit by eating fruit and watching and playing Power Rangers. I feel that I need to help people like my school friends, my mum and my sisters… I might need to change some things like answering back and buying too many things”.

When speaking of his new family Ben says –
“I’d like people to take me out and play sports with me… I’d like them to have pets and four children for me to play with… People need to know that I can be good or bad…”

What are we looking for?

Ben is keen to meet a new family, and is in need of a family who can care for him until he reaches an age of independence. Ben needs a home within reasonable distance of Bracknell so that he can maintain his links with his birth family as contact with them is very important to him. Both Ben and his carers will be supported in this contact. Ben is used to being the youngest child of the family. It would benefit him to be either the only child in the family or the youngest by several years.

What is involved in foster care?

The Bracknell Family Placement Team realise that fostering is not an easy task, therefore we will give you ongoing support and guidance. We will also undertake an assessment of you and your family, and offer you ongoing training opportunities, a financial allowance and support from fellow foster carers to assist in your role.
