We’re looking for exceptional people to join our new Area Based Services, Children’s Resource Service and Locality Teams, and help take us even further forward. As part of our Area Based Service, you’ll find yourself working from one location, undertaking assessment and case management of child protection, looked after children, and children in need cases. However, if you choose to join our multi-agency Resource Service instead, you’ll focus your skills on specific issues with looked after children, fostering, adoption and young people leaving care. Locality Social Workers will deliver direct work to high need children and families.

This is your opportunity to step into a frontline role in Child Care with a Council that will empower you with the skills and decision-making responsibility you need to deliver an outstanding service. Far from being stuck behind a desk, we will rely on you to take a hands-on approach to leading your group of Social Workers and making sure you deliver the best outcomes for local children. This is a practice-based leadership role, which will see you developing your group and leading by example. Above all, your aim will be to ensure that our services always work for the children concerned and, effectively, weave a blanket of care around each and every vulnerable child in North Somerset.

Using your extensive background within the field of social work, you will be eager to make the move into a challenging management role. A great communicator, capable of inspiring those around you to work to the very highest standards of quality, you will also be dedicated to developing your team and supporting them to do their jobs more effectively.
