Adviser - Self Directed Support

Salary:£8.67 - £10.35 per hour, 16 hours per week, flexible  

Hours:16 hours per week 

Working pattern:Part Time, Permanent position 

Location:Time Square, Bracknell, Berkshire

We are working towards disabled people having much more choice over the way their care and support is delivered. This includes them employing their own care staff with a direct payment from the Council (this is called self directed support).

You will assist the Self Directed Support Co-ordinator to:

- promote self directed support throughout Bracknell Forest (attending meetings, visiting disabled people in their own homes and working with internal staff etc)
- support disabled people and their families employ their own care workers
- assist social workers to set up extra support to enable disabled people to manage this responsibility effectively

Excellent at establishing credibility and rapport with individuals and their families, you’ll also be well-organised and capable of prioritising your own workload. Above all, you’ll need to be passionate about Independent Living and all that entails; improving the quality of life for disabled people in Bracknell Forest.
