Welwyn Hatfield Borough Council has approximately 350 employees, the majority of whom are based in the main council offices in Welwyn Garden City. The Council offices are conveniently situated close to the local shopping centre and railway station and with excellent leisure facilities nearby too.

The Borough is well served by public transport links. Both Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield have railway stations that run fast and frequent trains going south into London Kings Cross and Moorgate stations with connections to London Underground at Finsbury Park along the route. The average journey time from London Kings Cross to Welwyn Garden City is only 25 minutes. Going north, the trains connect to other main towns such as Stevenage and Hitchin going towards Peterborough. This line also branches off towards Letchworth and Cambridge.

Bus services also link up our two main towns of the Borough and this area of Hertfordshire has over 40 bus routes which cover other main towns such as Stevenage, Hertford, Hemel Hempstead and St Albans.

The major road routes serving the Borough are the A1(M) and the M25 close by, allowing easy access to Greater London, the North and other parts of the country.
