Job summary

The Senior Wellbeing Delivery Manager will be responsible for shaping, embedding and delivering the wellbeing elements of the DBS Strategy and Workforce Strategy. The role focuses on enhancing the people experience for staff, embedding a healthy, supportive and inclusive culture, and ensuring wellbeing is a core enabler of DBS’s success. There may, however, also be opportunities to advise on wellbeing elements of customer care and experience as other workstreams develop.

Working as a senior delivery manager within the Inclusion & Wellbeing Team, the postholder will lead the development of a modern, research‑informed wellbeing model that improves the everyday experience of colleagues and supports the organisation’s strategic priorities around people, culture and safeguarding.

This role is within the Inclusion and Wellbeing Team, sitting in the People Experience function and will manage, co-ordinate and lead the development, delivery and assurance of a modern, proactive and impactful wellbeing service. They will be accountable for progress, quality and impact within their remit, providing expert advice and recommendations to the Head of Inclusion & Wellbeing and other Senior Management to inform strategic direction and decision-making. This may include specific activity within the annual Business Plan.

The role offers remote working opportunities; but with the option to work in either Darlington or Liverpool as required. There will be an expectation of time in the office throughout the year, dependent on business need.

What you’ll need

  • Experience designing or delivering wellbeing, inclusion or people experience initiatives in a complex organisation.
  • Ability to influence leaders and build trusted relationships across teams and professional networks.
  • Strong research, analysis and evaluation skills - able to translate insight into practical recommendations.
  • Confidence facilitating workshops, engagement activity and capability‑building sessions.
  • Ability to use assistive technologies (like AI) confidently.
  • Ideally, experience leading cultural or behavioural change programmes.

  • Confidently use digital, data and AI‑enabled tools, with the ability to learn and adopt new technologies quickly.

  • Support and encourage teams in adopting digital and AI‑enabled tools, helping colleagues build confidence and embedding responsible use in everyday work.

Experience of:

  • Developing and implementing wellbeing, inclusion, people‑experience or organisational‑development initiatives in a complex organisation.
  • Leading cultural change or behaviour‑change activity that enhances workplace experience and supports organisational values.
  • Designing and facilitating workshops, events or learning activities that build capability or support wellbeing and inclusion.

Relevant professional qualification or equivalent experience in organisational wellbeing, occupational health, HR, organisational development, psychology, or a related field (e.g., CIPD Level 5 or above, ILM/CMI leadership qualifications, MHFA England accreditation, or recognised wellbeing‑related certification).

Corporate Duties:
