Working within the Financial Services Team, this fixed-term maternity cover role blends insurance administration with core accountancy support. You’ll coordinate and progress claims, compile and validate renewal data, support BACS processing, and contribute to budget monitoring—working closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to keep processes compliant, controlled, and customer-focused.
Reporting to the Principal Accountant – General Fund & Capital, the successful applicant will support the administration of the insurance function for the Council and providing accountancy assistance to the section.
We are seeking someone with enthusiasm, commitment and attention to detail to provide our insurance service to the Council, there will be an element of accountancy assistance to the section covering BACS transfers and budget monitoring work.
To be successful you will need:
- Knowledge and experience of the administration of insurance claims is essential.
- Being able to prepare and interpret insurance information.
- Understanding the principles of insurance.
- Dealing with enquiries from internal and external customers in a respectful and courteous manner.
- Provide advice and guidance to other Council service areas primarily regarding insurance.
The post is office based at District Council Offices, Mill Lane, Wingerworth with potential for hybrid working subject to operational requirements.
