We are recruiting for an Accountant to join our Finance Team within Adult Social Care, playing a key role in supporting one of the most impactful and high‑profile service areas in the Council.

We have great transport links right on the doorstep of our award-winning offices.Our team work on a two day in the office hybrid model.We are an accredited CIPFA employer and will support your professional development.

What you’ll do

  • Act as the key finance partner for senior managers and budget holders.
  • Lead on financial modelling, forecasting and budget planning.
  • Analyse costs and performance to support service improvement and value for money.
  • Provide strategic financial advice on investment, commissioning and transformation.
  • Contribute to the Council’s annual accounts and Medium Term Financial Strategy.
  • Support monthly and quarterly reporting to senior leadership and Members.

What you’ll bring

•Proven experience of Adult Social Care finance, systems and processes within local government (essential).

•Demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly, challenge constructively and build strong partnership with stakeholders (internal/external).

•CCAB/CIMA qualification (or significant progress toward one).

•Experience in financial management within a complex organisation.

•Strong analytical skills and confidence working with financial and non financial data presented in Dashboards and reports.

•A proactive, solutions focused approach and commitment to continuous improvement and self development.

    Salary range

    • £54,360 per year
