Do you have the passion to make a meaningful impact in people’s lives? Are you ready to lead the charge in building a healthier, more connected district where wellbeing is accessible to all?

We’re on the lookout for an inspiring and driven Active Lifestyles Project Officer to join our Healthy Places Business Unit. This is more than just a role, it’s a chance to spark positive change across Newark and Sherwood by shaping inclusive health initiatives that reach even the hardest-to-reach communities. You’ll be at the forefront of reducing health inequalities and improving lives, by working alongside residents, partners, and local organisations with empathy and purpose.

In this role, you will:

  • Create and launch innovative health and wellbeing programmes that deliver real, measurable outcomes—transforming lives from the ground up
  • Cultivate strong partnerships across the NHS, community groups, local businesses, and voluntary organisations to drive collaborative change
  • Inspire and empower residents in underserved areas to take charge of their wellbeing by designing activities that truly resonate with their needs and aspirations
  • Champion wellbeing within the Council, working across teams to build a culture of care and promote healthier lifestyles among staff
  • Shape long-term strategies that reflect the district’s health priorities—bringing your ideas to the table and helping steer a brighter, fairer future for all

If you’re a changemaker who thrives on collaboration, innovation, and creating real-world impact, we’d love to hear from you.

Let’s build a healthier future, together.

From roadshows to an annual award ceremony, from reviewing working arrangements to our Hug in a Mug initiative, it is incredibly important our employees are shown how valued they are and that they remain the beating heart of our workplace.

We offer:

  • Enrolment in the career average local government pension scheme.
