We are recruiting an Administrative Assistant / Receptionist at Caerphilly County Borough Council.

Working hours: 37 Hours (Monday – Thursday 08:00 – 16:00, Friday 08:00 – 15:30)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full Time, Term Time Only (39 Weeks)
Location: Ty Cwmpawd Gilfach

Team: School Improvement - EOTAS

The Education Other Than at School (EOTAS) team is recruiting a friendly, organised, and resilient Administrative Assistant / Receptionist to work in a busy education office environment at our Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) at Ty Gilfach with the view to move to our new site in Pontllanfraith (Centre for Skills and Learning) upon opening.

This key front-of-house role will provide effective, accurate, and timely receptionist and administrative support, and act as a welcoming first point of contact for pupils, families, staff, and external professionals, and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the unit along with providing admin support to the wider team.

Working in a PRU requires professionalism, empathy, and discretion, and the successful candidate will play an important role in helping to create a calm, supportive, and well-organised environment for our pupils.

For the role, we ask that you have:

  • A Level 2 qualification/s on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales. For example NVQ2 Administration, GCSEs Grade A*-C.
  • Good IT skills and familiarity with a range of Microsoft packages especially Word and Excel.
  • Experience of General clerical / administrative work.
